If your #1 resolution for 2013 is doing something great for your kids – or the child that is in you! – then watch Dr. David Victorson’s video review of this provocative book: Last Child in the Woods by Richard Louv. The purpose of the author is to help us cure our own children from nature-deficit disorder, apparently induced by how we conduct our lives and the life of our families, especially in urban contexts. Dr David Victorson is the founder and director of TRUE NORTH TREKS, a non-profit organization previously featured in this webzine, which offers cancer survivors a reconnection with life and nature through stunning treks. Yes, we totally get how fundamental this book must have been in the creation of the Evanston-based organization! But let’s go back to the book:
